Getting to West Palm Beach: airport, trains and getting around

You can fly straight into West Palm Beach, ride Brightline from Miami or Orlando, or take Tri-Rail up the coast. Downtown has free shuttles once you're here.

By air

The local airport is President Donald J. Trump International Airport, at 1000 James L. Turnage Blvd., West Palm Beach. It was called Palm Beach International (PBI) until July 9, 2026, when Florida law renamed it. Its airline code changed from PBI to DJT in August 2026, so search for DJT when you book. Discover The Palm Beaches notes the change doesn't affect airline schedules, parking or security screening.

Rideshare pickups are on the outer curb of the third-floor departure level. Car rentals, taxis and hotel shuttles are also available; see the airport's site for details.

By train

Brightline high-speed trains stop in West Palm Beach on the line between Miami and Orlando, with stops in Aventura, Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton.

Tri-Rail commuter trains run along the coast between Mangonia Park and Miami. The West Palm Beach station is at 203 South Tamarind Avenue. From there: - Palm Tran route 2 gives a free ride to the airport when you show a valid Tri-Rail fare. - Several other Palm Tran bus routes connect at the station.

Getting around downtown for free

The City of West Palm Beach runs RideWPB, which is free:

  • Yellow Line: shuttles every 15 minutes on a 15-stop route between the Tri-Rail station on South Tamarind Avenue and South Olive Avenue, including the Brightline and Tri-Rail stations, City Hall and The Square. Runs 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.
  • On-demand rides: free rides around a wider downtown area, booked in the Circuit app, daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Schedules can change, so check the city's RideWPB page before you rely on it.
